TV Derana wins big at Raigam Tele’es 2016

The 13th Raigam Tele’es Award Ceremony, one of the biggest annual events of the television industry in Sri Lanka, was held on Saturday at the Nelum Pokuna theatre in Colombo. 

Once again TV Derana bagged several top awards at the ceremony including Most Popular Teledrama.  

“Weli Pilla” which is hosted by Wasanthi Nanayakkara received the Jury’s Special Merit Award while “Aluth Parlimenthuwa” won the award for Best Current Affairs Programme of the Year. 

Dell Studio - Season 3 was adjudged the Best Television Musicla Programme of the Year.

“Deweni Inima” won the award for Most Popular Teledrama while Nayanathara Wickramarachchi, who plays one of the leading roles in it, was named as the Most Populer Actress of the Year.  

Meanwhile popular child star Kavish Vihanga who plays the role of ‘Soratha’ in the teledrama “Sidhu” received a Special Recognition Award.
