Principals launch demonstration

June 28, 2017   08:29 am

The Teachers – Principals Front stated that authorities had failed to duly intervene and solve the problematic situation affecting principals.

Convener of the Teachers – Principals Front, Mahinda Jayasinghe stated that a demonstration would be conducted today (28) seeking solutions for the problems.

He stated that over 25,000 principals in the country had been affected.

He also said that principals were being subjected to injustice regarding salaries, owing to the lack of a proper system for promotions and transfers of principals.

There is no methodical system to train teachers and principals, nor is there a fair process to select candidates for overseas tours, Convener Mahinda Jayasinghe added.
