Sri Lanka Police today announced that a concessionary time period of one week will be given to pay traffic fines due to the ongoing postal strike.

In a statement issued, police spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara stated that a problematic situation with regard to paying traffic fines at post offices has risen due to the ongoing strike.

Therefore the police department has decided to give a concessionary period of one week to the date mentioned before filing cases for finable offences, he said.

The police spokesman also said that fine sheets can be presented to Divisional Secretariats for the payment of fines and the receipt given in exchange can be produced at the relevant police station.
