Need for Police has increased since the war - IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Pujith Jayasundara stated that it was within the responsibility of the police to establish a nation where the people of the country can live in freedom.

He added that the need for the police has increased since the recovery from the civil war Sri Lanka had experienced for a period of thirty years. 

The statements were brought out during an opening ceremony held to mark the opening of a new police station in Arachchikattuwa.

Jayasundara further commented on the role and service of Sri Lanka Police, to society.
