Minister of Health, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne stated that the ownership of the Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital will be transferred to the state tomorrow (17), in the presence of the President, Maithripala Sirisena.

Addressing the journalists at the media briefing held today (16), he stated that the hospital had all necessary facilities a teaching hospital contains, including the latest pieces of medical technology.

Senaratne added that the hospital will provide a quality health service, free of charge that will be monitored by a group of board members.

The hospital will officially open as a teaching hospital on the 1 of august 2017, while the decision made will help resolve the issue regarding the lack of patients being treated by the hospital.
