HIV testing program for prison inmates - Dr. Liyanage

The National Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) and HIV control program, stated that men are more susceptible to contract AIDS than the women in the country. 

Director of the STD and AIDS Control Program, Dr. Sisira Liyanage stated that 2688 cases of HIV have been reported so far. 

Dr. Liyanage added that the number of cases reported have increased recently, as testing for HIV has become more readily available. 

Dr. Liyanage further stated that a special program to screen prison inmates for HIV has begun as well.
