Bus veers off 18 Bend Road, 22 injured

Twenty-two individuals have been injured in a traffic accident along the Kandy – Mahiyangana main road.

According to Police reports, the accident had occurred as a result of a malfunctioning of brakes of a private bus. The bus had consequently veered off the road around 12.00 am today (24), injuring the passengers in the process.

Two have sustained severe injuries, Police said.

Hasalaka Police reported that the injured passengers were residents of Dehiattakandiya, who were traveling back home after attending a religious ceremony in Colombo.
