LTTE to remain on EU’s terrorism list despite ECJ’s ruling

The European Union (EU) announced that they would continue to consider the LTTE as a terrorist organisation, despite the ruling made by the European Court of Justice (ECJ) earlier today (26).
The EU made this announcement in the evening today (26), issuing a statement following the decision made by the ECJ.
The ECJ earlier today (26) made the decision to take the LTTE off the list of recognized terrorist organizations and accordingly, annul measures taken against the LTTE such as the freezing of their funds.
Responding to the ECJ’s ruling, the EU issued a statement saying that the current ruling of the ECJ would be carefully analysed, and proceeded to confirm that restrictive measures against the LTTE would accordingly remain in force until further notice.
