Second Term for government schools to end on August 04, 2017

The Ministry of education declared that the second term for all Government and semi-government schools will end on August 04, 2017. 
It was further stated that the third term will commence on the (6) of September.

 

The ministry has further reported that the GCE Advanced level examinations are scheduled to commence on August 08, 2017 and the Grade 5 Scholarship examinations are to be held on August 20, 2017.

 

Further, no private supplementary tuition classes in relation to the 2017 GCE advanced level examination are to be scheduled from midnight tomorrow. (2). the commissioner of examinations, General W.M.N.J.Pushpakumara stated that this ban is to be enforced till the end of the CGE Advanced level examination on September 02, 2017.

 

During the period of ban, it is also prohibited to conduct any tuition classes, lectures, seminars or workshops pertaining to the examination. Further the distribution or possession of any questionnaires or additional reading material and any promotional material printed or virtual stating that examination questionnaires will be distributed has been banned.   

 

The examinations commissioner further stated that legal action will be taken against any individuals or organizations that are not in accordance with the provided guidelines under the examinations Act.   

 

Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam further stated that the results for the grade 5 scholarship examination and the GCE Advanced Level examination will be released on October 5, and December 27, respectively.
