We will not abandon the govt – Digambaran

Minister of New Village Infrastructure and Provincial Development Palani Digambaran stated that no small political party that assisted the UNP to come to power will abandon the government.  

Minister Digambaran made these statements at the opening of the newly reconstructed Highland milk powder factory earlier today. (9)

He further stated that despite any statements or actions of the Joint Opposition, the current government cannot be overturned till 2020. He also stated that the JO will not receive any support from any political party from the Northern or Eastern regions of the country. 

Minister Digambaran also stated that former president Mahinda Rajapakse has threatened to overturn the government for a long period of time. He stated that it is impossible for him to do as he proclaims as the 105 members of government and the members of other political parties will not allow the government to be overturned.
