Security guard shot-dead in Attidiya

A gang of thieves attempting to rob a private bank in Attidiya has taken the life of one security guard and severely injured another. 

It has been reported that the group of suspects had opened fire on the security guards whilst robbing the private bank they were on duty at. 

The heist occurred at 12.00 noon when two armed robbers entered the private bank and held hostages at gun-point. It has been reported that the suspects stole a large sum on money from a customer who had arrived at the bank. 

The gunmen opened fire on the two security guards who attempted to apprehend them killing one and severely injuring the other. The security guards were rushed to the Kalubowila hospital where one of them is currently being treated. 

It has been reported that the thieves had been Dehiwala area where they were attempting to raid another financial institution. As it was closed, they had ventured to the Attidiya area to raid a fiscal body.
