Dedicated bus-lanes to be enforced from Tuesday - Patali Champika Ranawaka

Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka stated that dedicated bus-lanes will be established from August 15, 2017. 

Minister Ranawaka made these statements at a special media gathering held today (11). He stated that that all private and public buses will have to on the bus-lanes on all weekdays from 6.00am to 9.00am.  
The bus-lanes will be operational along the three-lane roads from Moratuwa to Colombo and Battaramulla. 

The Minister further stated that any public or private bus along with any bus or van transporting school children can travel on the dedicated lanes. 

He also stated that this decision was taken after careful consideration of the congestion arising during the morning hours. He stated that this new implementation will provide a solution to the severe traffic problem within Colombo.
