Thajudeen’s murder: Shiranthi Rajapaksa summoned for questioning

UPDATE : (10.20am) - Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa arrived at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) a short while ago.

She was summoned to provide a statement over the murder of rugger player Wasim Thajudeen.

Shiranthi Rajapaksa is accordingly due to be questioned on the alleged use of a defender vehicle belonging by the Siriliya Saviya Foundation for the murder of the rugger player.

Meanwhile, Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara stated that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s son Yoshitha Rajapaksa had also been informed to appear before the CID tomorrow (16).

Thajudeen was found dead on May 17, 2012 inside his car which had apparently crashed into a wall in Kirulapone, which the Criminal Investigation Department CID) declared to be not an accident, resulting in the opening of an investigation.
