September 1, 2017   12:19 pm

The water purification unit at Horana, Kandana has been temporarily shut down in fear of contamination due to the possibility of fuel residue from the toppled fuel tanker mixing with water.

Sources confirm that the possible contamination has caused disruption to the water supplying units of Horana, Moratuwa, Panadura, Boralesgamuwa, Pilyandala, Bandaragama, Ingiriya and Kesbewa.

Authorities have urged the residents of the encompassed areas to brace for a possible water cut.
