Education is suffering in the North – Reginald Cooray

Governor of the Northern Province Reginald Cooray stated that the children of the North are not sufficiently educated despite the country taking great steps towards the development of education within Sri Lanka. 

The Governor made these statements while attending a ceremony in Jaffna yesterday (7). 

He further went on to state that the Tamil community of Sri Lanka had many erudite individuals who occupied high ranking positions throughout the history of the nation. The Governor however stated that currently, many students within the North are unfortunately uneducated. 

The Governor also stated that previous regimes severely neglected the North and its people. He however mentioned that the stage is now set for the children of the North to better their situation and utilize the technology provided to them.
