President encourages diplomats to promote bilateral ties with SL

A ceremony was held at the Presidential Secretariat today (11), to greet the ambassadors of the Republic of Estonia, Peru and Thailand where the ambassadors presented their credentials to President Maithripala Sirisena. 

Speaking to the diplomatic convoy, the President stated that Sri Lanka encourages stronger economic ties with countries that have had time-tested strong bonds with the country. 

President Sirisena also expressed his confidence in the new envoys stating that he hoped they would be encourage and further strengthen the bilateral ties existing between their native nation and Sri Lanka. 

While the Ambassadors of Thailand will be based in Colombo, other two will function as non-resident concurrently accredited Ambassadors with residence in New Delhi.
