20th amendment will decide election dates –Election Commissioner

Dates for the forthcoming election will be decided, with the 20th constitutional amendment, Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya said.

Addressing a media briefing, he said that holding or not holding a referendum pertaining to the revision of the constitution would be a significant factor deciding the election.

Delimitation and demarcation of electoral boundaries will be a decisive factor at the next election, the commissioner added.
