Govt is violating the rights of the public – Roshan Ranasinghe

MP Roshan Ranasinghe stated that the current government is forcibly depriving the public of their democratic rights through the enforcement of several new amendments to the constitution. 

He further stated that a corrupt situation where bribery is seen within the parliament to gain favour for votes has been observed on several instances. MP Ranasinghe further stated that the government, who is covering in fear of a public election, is now attempting to deprive the public of their basic rights by postponing elections in parliament. 
 
It was also mentioned that government members have postponed votes in parliament in an attempt to gradually gain favour of opposition members. 

MP Ranasinghe expressed these sentiments while addressing the public in Medagiriya yesterday (22).
