VIDYA-2017 exhibition of Kelaniya University re-opened

The “VIDYA 2017”Exhibition which temporarily concluded due to a tense situation which arose at University of Kelaniya will re-open tomorrow (07).

 

Accordingly “VIDYA 2017” will be held on October 07, 08, 09, from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm at the Science Faculty premises, University of Kelaniya.

 

However the restriction which was issued by the University Administration yesterday (5) preventing internal students entering the university premises will remain.

 

The Science Faculty students and the supportive staff bearing exhibition IDs will be permitted to enter the University for Exhibition Purposes.

 

VIDYA-2017 was inaugurated on October 02, at Sri Dharmaloka Convocation Hall of the University of Kelaniya.It is organized by the undergraduates, members of the staff and the distinguished alumni of the Faculty of Science to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Science Faculty under the theme ‘Big Bang to Artificial Intelligence’.

 

The Kelaniya University was temporarily closed yesterday (05) until further notice.

 

The decision was made by the University Administration following a clash which occurred between two student groups.

 

Eight students were hospitalized following the clash which took place between the two student groups earlier today.

 

Accordingly all students excluding the Medical faculty were informed to leave University premises before noon yesterday (05).
