Election watchdogs to convene with Mahinda Deshapriya today

Several local election watchdogs will convene with Commissioner of Elections Mahinda Deshapriya today (17), to discuss the impending local government elections. 

It has been reported that several election watchdogs including Transparency International, People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) and the Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFEE) will be present at the meeting. 

Executive Director of PAFFREL Rohana Hettiarachchi stated that the discussions will be held to ensure that the Local Government elections are held without any further delay.
