Gazette to facilitate LG polls to be issued next week - Faiszer

Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils Faiszer Musthapha says that the Gazette notification to facilitate the Local Government elections, to be held in January, will be issued next week. 

He stated that the opinions of political parties were obtained today with regard to amending the act and that a certain agreement was reached with regard to Nuwara-Eliya and Ambagamuwa Pradeshiya Sabhas. 

The minister stated that they are targeting to hold the election in January next year by gazetting the bill next week.
