The sessions of the Presidential Commission of inquiry is expected to resume on November 02.

Prime Minister Wickremesinghe had previously stated that he is prepared to appear before the Commission for any clarifications that need to be made.

In a statement to the media the Prime Minister’s Office declared that the Premier will have no objections in appearing before the Bond Commission following the mention of his name by persons produced before the Bond Commission.

When the recording of evidence pertaining to the case concluded on October 17, the commission had announced that Prime Minister will be summoned before the commission should the need arise for him to submit evidence.

Upon a request made by its members, the President had extended the term period of the Commission in accordance with the Commission of Inquiry Act considering the current role of the Commission in resolving the ongoing Bond scandal, by six weeks.
