80 percent of daily petrol supply will be completed within the course of the day – Arjuna

Minister of Petroleum Resource Development Arjuna Ranatunga announced that 80 percent of the daily petrol supply will be completed within the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation by the end of the day. 

It was also stated that no disruption of the distribution of diesel was experienced yesterday (3).

Long queues of vehicles were reported at fuel stations in Colombo and suburbs due to fears of a possible fuel shortage last night. 

The sudden increase in purchase of fuel was reportedly resulted in shortages at fuel stations in parts of Colombo and other cities. 

Petroleum trade unions stated that rejecting a consignment of substandard petrol had led to this situation.
