SAITM Medical Faculty Student Activists Committee have written to President Maithripala Sirisena requesting for a meeting  to discuss their views on the government solutions made over the SAITM controversy.

In their letter addressed to the President, the committee said that their study period has extended due various attempts to shut down the institution.

Therefore the SAITM medical faculty students have wait nine years for clinical training which is a serious injustice, they pointed out.

The association President Shanaka de Seram said that they expect a positive response by the President.

In the letter it has also said that the government should initiate the proposals immediately.
