Speaker approves request to probe COPE committee

A request was made of Speaker of Parliament Karu Jayasuriya to launch an investigation into the members of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE), due to allegations made that the information sheet of the COPE committee was secretly revealed to undisclosed individuals.  

Reports confirm that MP C.B.Ratnayake made the above request from the speaker during parliamentary proceedings today (17). 

Accordingly Speaker Karu Jayasuriya stated that an investigation will be conducted into the alleged incident.
