Presidents both past and present should conform to party policies – Weerakkody

Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training Chandima Weerakkody stated that all party members of the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) should always act in accordance with the norms and policies of the party irrespective of changes in politics. 

Speaking to the media following the launch of the ‘Imaduma Development’ program, Minister Weerakkody stated that he did not defect from the UPFA at any point during his political career. 

He stated that he supported all the past presidents that he served under and that he will continue to support President Maithripala Sirisena during his time in power.

Minister Weerakkody stated that all politicians including the former and current President should comprehend the need to conform to the norms and policies of their respective political parties.
