JVP hands over no-confidence motion against Faiszer

November 24, 2017   12:30 pm

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) today handed over a motion of no-confidence against Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Faiszer Musthapha to the Speaker of Parliament.

The motion was handed over to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya by a group of JVP Parliamentarians, a short while ago.

The motion has been signed by all the JVP MPs excluding Bimal Ratnayake, who is currently overseas.

JVP Propaganda Secretary Vijitha Herath had stated yesterday that a no-confidence motion would be tabled against the minister for failing in his duties and delaying holding of the Local Government election.

However, the Joint Opposition had also handed over a motion of no-confidence, signed by 12 MPs, against Minister Faiszer Musthapha to the Speaker yesterday (23).
