Public urged to avoid visiting Yala Sanctuary and Horton Plains

The Wildlife Conservation Department requests the public to avoid visiting the Yala National Park and Horton Plains National Park due to the prevailing inclement weather conditions. 

The department’s operations director Manjula Amararatna stated that the entry road of the Horton Plains national park and several internal roads are currently inundated. 

Meanwhile the Block 2 of the Yala National Park has been temporarily closed due to the adverse weather. 

He requested the public to avoid visiting the Horton Plains National Park and Yala Block 2 until the weather returns to normal.
