Leader of the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya MP Udaya Gammanpila stated that the Joint Opposition had no objection with former Joint Opposition member Sriyani Wijewickrama crossing over to the SLFP.

Speaking to the media at a press conference today (11), MP Gammanpila stated that while Sriyani Wijewickrama had not violated any policies of the Joint Opposition, she was forced to seek new membership once the nominations for the Local Government elections were revealed.

Udaya Gammanpila stated that the upcoming election will be a declaration of public opinion on the three-year tenure of the current government. He also said that he has no intention to secure political positions for his allies and neighbors and that his only ambition is to defeat the current government.
