Dead body of an elephant found in Karuwalagaswewa

A dead body of an elephant suspected to have died few days ago, was found in Karuwalagaswewa .

The 15-year-old elephant who was in a bad health condition had been under medical treatment since five days, forest officers said.

A tusker was shot to death in the same area in 2015, and a number of elephants died in Karuwalagaswewa during the recent past.

The post mortem of the wild elephant will be conducted today (17).
