CEB prepares for islandwide strike

December 19, 2017   09:34 am

The Joint Trade Unions of the Ceylon Electricity Board stated that all CEB employees will engage in an islandwide strike action in the very near future.

Convener of the Joint Trade Unions Ranjan Jayalal stated that the strike will be launched against several decisions made by the government including the slashing of an earned salary bonus for the holiday season.

He further stated that the strike will be launched as the relevant authorities have not responded to any demands made by the trade unions even though CEB employees have engaged in a nine-day fast.
