Shantha Herath appointed as SLFP organizer for Puttalam

Shantha Herath, Attorney at-Law, was appointed as the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) organizer for Puttalam district, by President Maithripala Sirisena.

He received the letter of appointment from the President at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (19).

Meanwhile, former member of the Joint Opposition and Deputy Leader of the Western Provincial Council Yasapala Koralage pledged his support to President yesterday, by defecting from the JO to join the SLFP. 

Yasapala Koralage obtained his SLFP membership following a meeting with the President on December 18, where he was awarded the SLFP organizer post for Horana. 

The President’s Media Division reported that Susil Karunathilake was appointed as the SLFP party organizer for Matara district.
