50 hospitalised after gas leak at factory in Ja-Ela

Around 50 employees of a factory in Ja-Ela have been hospitalized following a gas leak, Ada Derana reporter said. 

They have been admitted to Ja-Ela, Gampaha and Ragama hospitals. 

Twenty-five employees of the factory located in Ekala, Ja-Ela were hospitalized yesterday due to the gas leak which has been occurring since yesterday (19).

The employees including 23 women and 3 men were admitted to Ja-Ela and Ragama hospitals.

Meanwhile another 25 employees were admitted to hospital today. 

Some 1,200 workers are employed by the factory in question, which has been ordered to shut down operations pending an inquiry into the issue.
