Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe arrived at the President’s official residence for discussions with President Maithripala Sirisena, a short while ago.

The PM also held talks with the President last evening along with several UNP Ministers with regard to the no-confidence motion which has been brought by the Joint Opposition.

Following a meeting with the President late last night, the parliamentary group of the  Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) unanimously decided to request Wickremesinghe to step down as Prime Minister before the vote on the no-confidence motion against him.

The Parliament will debate the motion tomorrow (4).
