Four arrested while attempting to smuggle a stock of Vallapatta

Four Sri Lankan male passengers were apprehended by the Departure Staff of Sri Lanka Customs at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA)  Katunayake today (14) while attempting to smuggle out 119kg of Vallapatta.

The seized stock of Vallapatta valued at Rs 9.4 million, according to custom officials.

The suspects were aged 34, 28, 39 and 46,initial investigations claimed.
 
Two of the suspects were bound to Dubai via Muscat by WY 376 at 9.40am, and two others directly to Dubai by EK 2529 at 10.30am today.

Investigations into the incident were carried out with the coordination of Customs Bio Diversity Control Unit of Sri Lanka Customs.
