Kaduwela-Biyagama Bridge to be closed

The bridge connecting Kaduwela and Biyagama will be closed from 10.00pm tonight to 5.00am tomorrow (25) as a precautionary measure, Police said.
Traffic had been restricted on the bridge yesterday (23) due fears over the excessive erosion of soil underneath the bridge along the Kelani River banks.
Vehicle movement along the bridge was limited to one lane yesterday, however it was later opened for traffic.
The Road Development Authority (RDA) had dispatched a team of engineers to the location to inspect damage caused by the heavy erosion which was triggered by the adverse weather.
