Hemasiri Fernando appointed President’s Chief of Staff

Hemasiri Fernando, the Chairman of the People’s Bank has been appointed as the Chief of Staff of the President, stated President’s Media Division.

He received his letter of appointment from President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat, today (03).

Fernando was the Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka and he is a prominent personality in the civil service.

He held many top posts including those of the Secretary to the Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike, Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom Ltd, Secretary to the Ministry of Posts and Chairman Airport and Aviation Authority.

Hemasiri Fernando was educated at Nalanda College, Colombo.
