The Jana Balaya Colombata protest and rally organized by the Joint Opposition which assembled masses to Colombo yesterday (05), has now concluded.

The leaders of the Joint Opposition who were at the Lake House Roundabout have decided to conclude the protest following a discussion held in the early hours today.

Accordingly, the protesters have left Colombo and all the roads in the city are clear for traffic, said Ada Derana reporter.

A Satyagraha was also launched by the Jana Balaya protestors yesterday, alongside the protest.

Tens of thousands of supporters of former president Mahinda Rajapakse staged a huge night rally in Colombo late Wednesday as the ex-leader demanded snap elections.

Rajapakse addressed supporters holding candles and kerosene oil torches.
