Pakistani caught at BIA with heroin worth over Rs 16 mn

A foreign national has been apprehended on arrival at the Bandaranaike International airport (BIA) by the Customs Narcotics Division for the possession of heroin.

Reportedly, customs officials had found 1.6 kg of high-quality heroin of Brown Sugar variety, hidden within a false bottom of the luggage of the suspect.

The worth of the smuggled haul of heroin is estimated to be about Rs 16 million, according to the Customs.

A Pakistani national has been arrested in such manner, stated the Customs Officials.
