Knife-wielding robber makes off with Rs 1.7 million from finance company

A suspect wearing a full face helmet and armed with a knife has robbed Rs 1.7 million in cash from a private finance company in Chavakachcheri.

Police said that armed robbery had taken place at around 8.15 am today (19) at the branch of a finance company located at Chavakachcheri on the A9 road.

The suspect had reportedly used the knife to threaten the employees and steal the money as it was being extracted from a safe at the institution.

The suspect who was wearing a full face helmet had arrived on a motorcycle, which he had also used to flee the scene.

Chavakachcheri Police is conducting further investigations.
