Action could be taken regarding the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara’s behavior, says Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Rajitha Senaratne.

Minister stated this responding to a question of a journalist at the press briefing of Cabinet decisions held today (19).

Media personnel questioned the Minister on the phone call recording of DIG Nalaka de Silva allegedly conspiring to assassinate the president, as well.

Senaratne says that legal action cannot be taken against a state employee just by someone’s accusations against them and that is should be done via a legal process while collecting evidence.

However, DIG Nalaka de Silva refuted the allegations stating that it wasn’t his and investigation will be done also on Director of Anti Corruption Force Nalaka Kumara who released the said phone call recordings, stated the Minister.
