Train compartments on fire at Dematagoda yard

A fire has reportedly broken out in two train compartments at the Dematagoda railway yard.

The Fire Brigade said that several fire trucks and fire fighters have been dispatched to the location to help douse the flames.

The Department of Railways said that the fire had broken out in two train compartments sent to the yard for maintenance and repairs.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained while police are investigating the incident.
