Two dead, two injured after being hit by a train in Ragama

Two persons have died while two others sustained injuries this morning (27) in Ragama after being knocked down by the ‘Siyane Kumari’ express train en route to Matara from Kandy, the police said.

They were reportedly hit by the train at the railway crossing in Ragama.

It was reported that the train has been stopped past Ragama railway station following the accident.

The trains that were scheduled to commute from the Ragama railway station have been delayed owing to the accident.

The injured persons are in critical condition, according to hospital sources.
