Man killed in shooting at Angoda Junction

A 33-year-old man was killed after two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire at him at the Angoda Junction, in Mulleriyawa Police Area.
 
The shooting had occurred at around 3.00 p.m. today (5) near a liquor store on the Avissawella Road.

Two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle had opened fire at the victim and then fled, police said.

The victim, Tharaka Iroshan, 33, a resident of Kalapaluwawa in Rajagiriya, was rushed to the Mulleriyawa Hospital in critical condition.

However, he had succumbed to injuries before admission to the hospital.

The body has currently been placed at the mortuary of the hospital.

Mulleriyawa Police is conducting further investigations.
