Hambantota armed bank robbery caught on CCTV camera

An armed robber has made off with over Rs 400,000 in cash and a gold chain belonging to a female employee during a daytime bank robbery in Hambantota.

An individual wearing a full-face helmet to conceal his identity and wielding a firearm had entered the branch of a cooperative bank in the Hambantota area on 2.00 p.m. on Thursday (25).

The suspect had threatened the employees at the bank and robbed the cash while the incident was recorded on the CCTV cameras of the bank.

The robber has reportedly also snatched a gold chain worn by one of the female employees at the bank.

Hambantota Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
