Thewarapperuma and Heshan Withanage granted bail

UNP MPs Palitha Thewarapperuma and Heshan Withanage, who were arrested over the incident of assaulting Major Ajith Prasanna, have been granted.

 

The MPs have been released on a surety bail of Rs 100,000 each, stated Ada Derana reporter.

 

MPs Palitha Thewarapperuma and Heshan Withange were arrested this morning (05) regarding the assault of retired Major Ajith Prasanna in front of the Temple Trees on November 01.

 

Major Prassana had stated that a group of people who came from within Temple Trees attacked him when he was walking with a few others in front of the Temple Trees at around 2.30-3 pm.

 

He had lodged a complaint at the Colpetty Police stating that MP Palitha Thewarapperuma and MP Heshan Withanage, along with another group of people, attacked while verbally abusing him with obscenities.

 

Reportedly, the retired Major had suffered injuries to the face and body and had been wounded above the eye.
