Dense fog disrupts traffic in Central Hills

November 7, 2018   12:58 pm

Dense fog that was spurred by prevailing rainfall in the western slopes of central hills is reported to be causing disruption to traffic on the road.

Accordingly, vehicular movement from Kitulgala to Nuwara Eliya on the Hatton-Colombo main road had been hindered since 3.00 pm last evening (06) up until this morning (07).

The police have advised the motorists to drive cautiously at a low speed, with headlights turned on, as the dense fog reduces the visibility along the road.

Reportedly, at several locations along the road, the motorists had been unable to discern the vehicles arriving from the opposite direction, due to the dense fog that arose from adverse weather conditions.
