Police acts only under President’s orders – IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara issuing a statement stated that he cannot provide earlier numbers of security for former Prime Minister and Ministers as requested by the former Minister of Law and Order.

He stated that the written request of the former minster calling for Ministerial security for former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and former ministers is invalid.

Police Department operates only under the orders of the President of the country, he points out.
