Two children die after falling into water-filled hole

Two children have reportedly died after falling into a water-filled hole in Thoddaveli, Mannar.

Police said that a seven-year-old boy and an eight-year-old boy, who had gone to bathe in the water-filled hole within an agricultural land spanning around five acres, had drowned on Saturday evening (10).

The deceased have been identified as Kanagaraj Rajeeth, aged 8, and I. Livison, aged 7, of Joseph Vaz Nagar in Thoddaveli.

The bodies have been placed at the Mannar Hospital for the postmortem examination.

Mannar Police is conducting further investigations.
