Political parties given a week to inform decision on contesting

The Elections Commission has made a written request from all registered political parties to inform their decision on contesting for the forthcoming General Election.

Accordingly, all political parties are slated to inform their decision to the Elections Commission within one-week time period.

The Commission has decided to continue with preparations for the elections, until the decision of the Supreme Court on the snap election is issued.

Furthermore, the gazette notification regarding the Parliamentary Election has also been published.

Reportedly, preparations for the elections will be carried out under the direction of the Director General of Elections.
